WHY INDIAN SINGERS ARE NOT AS POPULAR AS THE SINGERS IN WEST

 You know, I loved the time when KAILASH KHER, ADNAN SAMI, DALER MEHNDI sir, and others used to release their singles and albums & featuring themselves in the video.

but now, the scene is totally different. Everyone aspires to be a  " PLAYBACK SINGER".

Yeh, you heard it right. Not a singer but a *playback singer. This happens especially with the singers who sing in Hindi. In Indian cinema, songs play an important role. An important role in the promotion of the film. Sometimes people just go to the cinema house because the songs of the movie are good. 

But coming to the topic, there is a lack of independent music in India. Singers who sing in Bollybood are very underrated. Even if not all, most of them are underrated. whenever you will ask which singer do you know People will say, Arijit Singh, Neha Kakkar, Shreya Ghoshal, Kishore Kumar, and a few. but they don't know about other talented singers who are deserving too. they will say about the actors in the song. The actors just perform in the video. THE SONG IS NOT THEIR. A Song is owned by its composer, Singer, and lyricist. A song is their creation.

 Dare you to listen to the song by muting the audio. Just see the actors dancing or performing their respective scenes. Music directors have become the puppet of the big Music label. I watched an interview of Sonu Nigam sir where said that, earlier actors used to come to the studio to enjoy the song to see the process and to learn something. But now the scene is reversed. They come to interfere. Actors who don't have any musical knowledge are interfering. They ( you know who) decide whether to keep this particular singer or not. Is this right??    

I really want the singers/composers/lyricist to be free. To not just write the lyrics according to the script of the movie or about the particular scene but according to their own mood and will. I am not saying that Bollywood music is not good or something like that. But limiting the music just to Bollywood is not right. See the singers in other countries, they are respected as same as the actors. Even when the singers from other countries come to our country, these Bollywood people treat them special. They throw parties for them, etc. Seeing some singers, I just think that these singers have given so many hits but why not many people know about them. Even now in singles released by big music labels they are showing actors only. ( Arey bhai kahin to chod do). Truly speaking they have just made a business out of it. They just sign a popular face to increase their reach. They just go with the trending faces. 

 But there are some of the singers (in Bollywood) who are making their own label. The latest example of whom is Arijit Singh. He is now working on his independent music and had released a few music videos. Rihaa is his first independent music. I like the fact that it's not any typical romantic or sad song. Rather it talks about liberation from ignorance.

SO NOW LET ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO MAKE INDEPENDENT MUSIC AND PROMOTE THEM.
